Personalisation and Content Policy
Updated 8 October 2026 · build 26.10.15.6
Check before you buy
You control the wording and placement you submit. Enter names, spelling, punctuation, dates and sign-offs exactly as they should appear. Check the editor and final preview before payment. Screen previews are a guide: device brightness, colour profiles and display settings differ, and printed ink on paper will not exactly match every phone, tablet or monitor.
What counts as personalised
A card is personalised where customer-supplied wording, names, dates, photos, emoji, stickers, layout choices or other edits are included in the production artwork. A card ordered through the blank-inside route with no customer edits is treated as non-personalised.
Production artwork
After payment, approved customer content is converted automatically into production artwork and may be submitted quickly to our print partner. We do not routinely proofread, rewrite, retouch or reposition it.
Mistakes in approved content
Personalised cards are made to the customer’s specification. Customer-approved spelling mistakes, incorrect names or dates, unwanted wording and placement choices that are reproduced as approved are the customer’s responsibility and are not faults, change-of-mind return reasons or grounds for a free reprint. If Bold Types reproduces the approved artwork incorrectly, your statutory rights are unaffected. If you are unsure about personalising a card, choose the blank-inside option where available.
Screen and print colour
Reasonable, non-material differences in colour, tone or brightness between a screen preview and the printed card can occur because screens, user settings, inks and paper differ. That normal variation alone is not treated as a fault or change-of-mind return reason. This does not affect your rights if the finished card is faulty, damaged, materially different from the approved preview or not as described.
Faults and production errors
This policy does not affect rights where the finished card is faulty, damaged, incorrect or materially different from the approved preview. Contact support with the order number and photographs where useful.
Content we may refuse
We may refuse or cancel content that is unlawful, seriously abusive, threatening, exploitative, infringes rights, or cannot lawfully be produced. Where we cancel before supply for this reason, any payment taken for the cancelled item will be handled appropriately.
